Shipping & Compliance Policy
This policy describes how OEM and private-label batteries supplied by Chengguang Power Tech Co., Ltd. are packaged, classified and shipped. Lead-acid batteries are regulated transport goods, so correct classification and documentation matter.

1. Mode and port of shipment
Batteries are typically shipped by sea, exported from Tianjin / Shanghai. Air freight is available for small sample quantities where the carrier and regulations permit. The shipment mode for an order is confirmed in writing.
2. Transport classification
Wet lead-acid batteries are classified as Class 8 (corrosive) dangerous goods under the IMDG Code for sea transport. Depending on the battery type and state of charge, the applicable UN number is:
- UN 2794 — Batteries, wet, filled with acid (Class 8).
- UN 2800 — Batteries, wet, non-spillable (Class 8), where the battery meets the vibration and crack tests for non-spillable classification.
Unlike lithium batteries (Class 9, UN 3480/3481), lead-acid starting batteries do not require a UN 38.3 test report. They do, however, require compliant dangerous-goods packaging, marking and, where applicable, a dangerous-goods declaration. The exact classification and declaration for each shipment is confirmed against the IMDG Code in force at the time of shipment and the carrier’s requirements.
Transport regulations change. Always confirm the current classification and any carrier or destination-country restrictions before shipment.
3. Packaging
Batteries are packed to prevent shorting and damage during handling:
- Terminal protection to prevent short circuits.
- Upright orientation with adequate separation and cushioning.
- Palletised cartons sized to the container plan.
- Mixed-model loading to use container capacity efficiently where agreed.
4. Export documentation
A standard export set avoids customs delays. Typical documents include:
- Commercial invoice and packing list.
- Bill of lading.
- Certificate of origin.
- Test reports (CCA / capacity) where required.
- Dangerous-goods declaration, where applicable.
5. Incoterms and risk transfer
Shipment is made under the Incoterms agreed in writing (FOB Tianjin / CFR / CIF). Risk of loss or damage passes to the buyer at the point defined by the agreed Incoterm. Buyers should insure the goods accordingly from the point where risk transfers. Prices are quoted exclusive of freight and insurance; freight is quoted separately for the agreed Incoterm and confirmed in the quotation.
6. Delivery time
Indicative lead time is 30–45 days after order confirmation. The confirmed production and shipment schedule is stated in the order confirmation and is subject to force majeure and carrier schedules.
7. Buyer responsibilities
Unless otherwise agreed, the buyer is responsible for:
- Import clearance, duties and taxes at destination.
- Compliance with destination-country regulations, including any battery import, labelling or recycling requirements.
- Inland transport from the destination port.
8. Compliance with standards
Products are manufactured under a quality system referenced to Chengguang Power Tech Co., Ltd.’s certifications (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 45001). Compliance with any destination-market regulation (for example, REACH, or regional battery and recycling rules) must be confirmed by the buyer for its market.
